Take advantage of water's naturally therapeutic properties of buoyancy, resistance, and warmth. |
TRIA Aquatic Therapy Program provides patients with an alternative method of rehabilitation that focuses
on exercises performed in a warm pool environment. TRIA partners with Hilton Minneapolis/Bloomington,
conveniently located across the street from TRIA on France Avenue, to provide aquatic therapy at their
indoor pool, heated to a therapeutic temperature of 90° F.
Aquatic Therapy benefits patients as it:
- Offers one-on-one care from a licensed physical therapist
- Gently builds strength and muscle tone
- Increases blood circulation
- Improves range of motion
- Decreases joint stress
- Reduces pain
- Minimizes swelling
- Delivers better joint position awareness
- Develops core strength
Aquatic therapy is appropriate for patients of almost any age, and is beneficial for a wide variety of
conditions and injuries. This type of therapy is especially helpful for people who have difficulty with
weight bearing activities, as the water's buoyancy assists in supporting the weight and decreases stress
placed on the joints. Aquatic therapy can either be used independently or in conjunction with traditional,
land-based physical therapy.
Aquatic Therapy appointments are available Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
