About the PlaySafe program at TRIA

Every year, 3.5 million children age 14 and under sustain a sports-related injury or illness. Of these, 50% are considered overuse injuries. TRIA PlaySafe is a sports safety program designed to educate athletes, parents, coaches and athletic trainers about injury prevention strategies in an effort to reduce the epidemic of sports injuries in our young athletes.

TRIA PlaySafe is supported by a grant from the Safe Kids Minnesota Sports Safety Program.

Program Details:

  • A multidisciplinary team, including sports medicine physicians, athletic trainers, and physical therapists, host a variety of sports safety clinics throughout the year.
  • Topics include overuse injuries, concussions, heat illness and dehydration among others.
  • Athletes, parents, coaches, and athletic trainers are welcome to attend.
  • The goal is to provide information and tools to keep young athletes healthy and injury-free.
