TRIA PlayStrong
ACL injury prevention program for female athletes.
TRIA PlayStrong
Why is a prevention program needed?
  • Female athletes are 2 to 8 times more likely to tear their ACL than male athletes.
  • 80% of ACL injuries in females are non-contact and occur while cutting, pivoting, landing from a jump, or decelerating.
The TRIA PlayStrong ACL Prevention Program is designed to help teams implement the PEP Program: Prevent Injury and Enhance Performance. The PEP program was designed by The Santa Monica Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Research Foundation to decrease the risk of ACL injury in female athletes.

Program Details:
  • Targets female athletes’ common areas of weakness and increases lower extremity strength and stability.
  • Takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.
  • Recommended at least three times per week as a warm-up prior to practice/games.
  • Includes core conditioning components that help athletes with performance and injury reduction.
